For various reasons, Island Trails is not a supporter of the province’s Equestrian Pilot Project in its current configuration and you can read about these reasons in our September newsletter.
However, as part of the Pilot Project, horses are now allowed on six sections of the Confederation Trail and it is good practice to know safety procedures and etiquette to follow when meeting a horse on the trail.
There is a short and informative YouTube video on the government link below that details the procedures to follow. The link also has more detail on what sections of the Confederation Trail are part of the Pilot Project.
If you have any feedback on the pilot project, please forward it to: DTIpilot@gov.pe.ca
