Island Trails Passport Project

COMING JUNE 2026

STAY TUNED FOR THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH DATE!

Love hiking? Enjoy being outdoors and taking in the Island’s natural beauty?
Now you can do what you love — and earn a Red Dirt Seal Certificate along the way.

A New Way to Explore PEI!

The idea is simple: visit all participating trails, check in at each one, and once you’ve completed them all, you’ll earn your Red Dirt Seal Certificate.

How It Works

  • Visit each participating Island Trail
  • Follow the trail until you reach the designated check-in point
  • At each trail, you would need to
    • Scan the QR code using the app, or
    • Stamp your Paper Passport
  • Once you’ve completed all trails, you can apply to receive your Red Dirt Seal Certificate.
  • There is no time limit — go at your own pace and enjoy the journey.

Paper or Digital — Your Choice

  • Paper Passport – email us at [email protected] to request your copy.
  • Mobile App – will be available to download on Google Play and Apple Store soon.

Big Thank You to our sponsors!

We would like to thank Gray Group for their generous support in making this project possible.

We’d also like to thank Dalmac for their financial support in helping us print the paper passports.

Participation in the Island Trails Passport Project is voluntary. All participants should take part at their own discretion, as this activity involves physical effort, including walking for extended distances. Please plan accordingly and choose trails that match your comfort and ability level.

For questions or more information about the project, please email [email protected].

Land Acknowledgement

In the spirit of Reconciliation, we acknowledge that the land upon which we gather is unceded Mi’kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island), Mi’kma’ki, is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi’kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12,000 years; past, present and future.
