Privacy Policy – PEI Island Trails Passport

The PEI Island Trails Passport app is designed to help users explore participating trails across Prince Edward Island by checking in at designated trail locations and tracking completed visits.
Camera Access
The app may request access to your device camera for the purpose of scanning QR codes located at participating trail checkpoints.
The app does not access, store, or share personal photos or videos from your device.
Users may also choose to manually enter checkpoint codes instead of using the camera feature.
Information We Collect
The app may collect limited information voluntarily provided by users, such as:
- email addresses submitted for certificate requests
- trail completion/check-in information
- optional information submitted through forms within the app
This information is used only for operating the PEI Island Trails Passport program and issuing completion certificates such as the Red Dirt Seal Certificate.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties.
Information may be accessed only by authorized organizers or administrators involved in operating the PEI Island Trails Passport program.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect submitted information; however, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure.
Children’s Privacy
The app is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
