VOLUNTEERS

Island Trails is recruiting volunteers to assist in its many diverse areas of the organization. Cyclists and/or walkers who use the Confederation Trail on a regular basis between May and October are invited to become volunteers.

Perhaps one of these areas would be of interest to you?

  • Trail Officer Volunteers — Cyclists who would be willing to attend a two day Trail Officer training course to be held in the spring and make a commitment of one patrol per week (3 hours) on a designated area of the Confederation trail.
  • TrailWatch Volunteers — Walk or cycle a designated section of the trail and report on the flora and fauna, wildlife, birds, traffic, and natural or wilful damage via fax or email once per week. You can have a section of trail of your own choosing or have a section assigned. Others may wish to be roving volunteers and do a different section each week!
  • Community Event Volunteers — Assist in hosting cycle/walk events in his/her community once or twice during the trail season (May-October).
  • Community Trail Volunteers — Assist with clearing new trail areas and may act as leaders for public walks through such trails.
  • Board Volunteers — Represent an organization, bring a particular skill to the group or represent a geographical area.

Simply print off a Volunteer Application Form (PDF 61KB), fill it out and mail or fax to us.
