Basically scrub brush and cutover areas that have been replanted along with young, mostly coniferous trees. At one point there is a scenic view of Foxley Bay with a bench for resting. As in most of the provincial demonstration woodlots, there is signage to explain various situations along the trail.
From # 2 Highway at Portage, turn North on # 12 and travel 3.7 km to Woodbrook. Turn left (West) there on a clay road and to 1.7 km to the Trail Head at the Foxley River Woodlot sign. Parking is up the lane a bit but check to be sure your vehicle can clear the sometimes rough surface. Otherwise, just park at the roadway and hike in.
